Athens-based attorneys, Lewis, Stolz, Hurt, Frierson, & Grayson, LLP’s original website, while functional and informative, did not reflect the firm’s unique personality, methodology or heritage. They contracted Sliced Bread to not only redesign their website, but to better organize their content and stated offerings, in order to improve the firm’s presence on and pull from the Internet. Sliced Bread combined a fresh and simple design emphasizing the firm’s unique headquarters with photographic and typographic finesse, along with well-organized content and structure and Search Engine Optimization techniques.

Background & Methodology

The firm’s Athens, GA offices are located in one of the oldest houses still in existence in the city, which is designated as a historic landmark. Identifying that this unique setting not only helped define the law firm, but embodied and personified its values and principles as well, Sliced Bread worked at all levels with a professional photographer to document the historic house and the attorneys’ symbiotic relationship with it. Once a base of imagery was established, a website design was constructed to emphasize this imagery, in conjunction with the reorganized content and sitemap. Color schemes found in the architecture and grounds were utilized, and simple hierarchies and arrays were developed to maintain visual appeal and interest.

A web-based Content Management System (CMS) tool was also implemented, to allow the firm to maintain updates and news items on the website. Sliced Bread moved the website’s entire domain and hosting to its own servers to provide better email controls, spam protection, and website technologies, as well as to simplify the firm’s points of contact.

Finally, a refined typographic treatment of the firm’s logotype was developed to complement the new website’s design.
